Think about it…
What does Wikipedia give you?
Wikipedia gives you information about something that you do not know. It is maintained by a community of editors who you do not know. But you still largely trust the data because you trust the community, hence trust the information maintained by the community.
Do you see similarities with Blockchain? The blockchain is also a store of transactions that is maintained by the community and not owned by a single party.
If I were to extend the same argument, blockchain has the potential to be a single source of truth for any kind of information.
Although interoperability between various blockchains is not available currently, it will be available sooner or later. Once that happens, all blockchain can become a source of truth of one thing or the other.
If you want to know the authenticity of medicine or an art item all you will need to do is to search it on the blockchain and get the information which is trusted and coming from an authentic source and you can be assured that it has not been tampered with.
Blockchain will become the bottom-most layer of storage of facts, which is distributed, immutable and trusted.
And once that layer has enough information, search engines will be there to search for the information something like “Google from Blockchain”.
